FAQ
What happens next?
Please call or email us to schedule an initial visit. If you are planning to bring your child/teen in for therapy, the first session is for parent/s only so that you have the opportunity to meet the therapist to determine whether or not we are a good fit for your family and to complete the necessary paperwork.
How often are sessions scheduled?
Although once a week is preferable in the beginning, we will work together to find a schedule that best meets your needs or your child’s needs.
How do we explain this to our child?
For little ones, it is simplest to tell them they will be going to have playtime with the counselor. If your child is a bit older and/or inquisitive you may explain that we can help them make sense of things that are difficult or confusing.
What about absences from school?
We will provide you with a note so your child will have an excused absence. We will work together to find the best time of day so your child misses as little instruction as possible.
How long will therapy take place?
While this is a great question, it is also very difficult to answer. Once the process is underway, we can make an educated estimate for you.
What if I need to cancel or re-schedule my appointment?
We are happy to reschedule with at least 24 hours notice. If an appointment is cancelled less than 24 hours prior or a client fails to show up, the client will be charged the full fee for the missed appointment.
